Let’s start with their names: Which mountain summits can you see from the Radhof? There are a lot, and they include the most spectacular mountains in South Tyrol. The Peitlerkofel, the Villnösser Geisler mountains, the Seceda, the Sellastock, the Langkofel and Plattkofel, the Schlern, the Latemar, the Rosengarten and the Marmolada. These are the mountains of mountaineers’ dreams, the places of myth and legend, and of geological history carved into white limestone.

Hikes on the Villanderer Alm
Hike to the Totensee Lake and the Totenkirchl chapel. Walking time 1 hr 40 mins, elevation difference 475 m, min. altitude 1,745 m, max. altitude 2,219 m.
Mountain hut hike to the Stöfflhütte, Walking time 1 hr 20 mins, elevation difference 366 m, min. altitude 1,745 m, max. altitude 2,057 m.
The low elevation difference makes the Villanderer Alm a popular hiking destination. If you love a challenge, the Rittner Horn or the Kassianspitze summit are superb destinations.

A journey through history
Explore the historical sites where the history of Villanders was written. Entrance to these attractions is included in your Klausen Card.
Archeoparc Villanders. The archaeological digs and finds in Villanders village centre invite you to embark on a journey back to the Stone Age and discover 7,000 years of history.
Villanders Mountain Mine. The former tunnels of the Villanders mountain mine are a wonderfully cool, refreshing destination for a day out, particularly on hot summer days, and provide a fascinating insight into the lives of the miners of bygone days
Fancy a bike ride?
Do you like exploring the land on two wheels? For a daily fee and on prior request, you can rent mountain bikes and e-bikes from the Hotel Sambergerhof, just a few metres from the Radhof — and then pedal off and away! Have you brought your own bike with you? The Radhof has a lockable bike garage, which you are welcome to use for the duration of your stay.
Making your mark
The winter: Bright blue skies above you, and a glittering blanket of snow ahead. Are you ready to make your mark? There are so many ways you can do it on the Villanderer Alm. Sledge, hike or snowshoe your way through the Alpine countryside, where well-signposted paths lead you through the snowy countryside and the mountain pine woods, at eye-height with the Dolomite mountains. Hike over the crispy snow, breathe in the pure winter air, and stop off at one of the mountain huts: In a cosy dining room, with a steaming bowl of dumpling soup, you’ll feel all the joy of winter flooding through you.

Cross-country adventures
So many people adore cross-country skiing. Enjoy the utter silence as you glide your way along the 6.5 km-long high-mountain trail; this route is not particularly challenging on a technical level, and, with its loops, curves and two moderate descents, is a joy for all cross-country fans from beginners to advanced. The trail is bright and sunny, and has been designed to guarantee optimum snow conditions.
Trails begins at the Gasserhütte mountain hut. Equipment rental at the car park from 9 am to 4 pm.
Brixen
Former Prince-Bishopric and the oldest town of South Tyrol: Brixen looks back on a long history and is home to numerous sights well worth seeing, including the Baroque cathedral and its cloister, the Hofburg, erstwhile residence of the Prince Bishop, the Herrengarten court garden and Stufels, the oldest area of the city. A stroll beneath the porticoed arcades and through the squares and shaded parks reveals the livelier side of this charming city, while the contemporary architecture and countless bars, cafes and restaurants in the old town bring you a perfect blend of cultural experiences, shopping opportunities, hospitality and cuisine.
Klausen/Chiusa
Winding alleys an historical treasures: Officially listed as one of the most beautiful towns in Italy by the “Borghi più Belli d‘Italia” association, Klausen has not only sparked the inspiration of German artist Albrecht Dürer. Towering protectively above this picturesque town you will find the beautiful Säben Abbey, which is accessible via a particularly attractive walking trail. In the area surrounding Klausen, countless trails lead across the sunny mid-mountain slopes and up to the mountain pastures and viewing platforms. One of the most famed hikes in the region is the approximately 90-km long “Eisacktaler Keschtnweg”—the “Eisack Valley Chestnut Trail”—from Brixen to Terlan, in the Etsch Valley. The countryside is overflowing with vineyards and apple orchards and, in the autumn months, the winegrowers of the area welcome you in to taste their own Eisack Valley wines on a traditional Törggelen hike.
Overflowing with tradition, in tune with nature
Masses of natural wood from the nearby pine woods, solid stone, and traditional architecture. First mentioned in documents dating back to 1508, the Radhof has been renovated in the style of a traditional South Tyrolean farm with haybarn. Since 2002, the Rabensteiner family have been welcoming guests to enjoy hiking holidays in the mountains.
